FIG CHAIRS

These chairs are a constant physical representation of relationships. The connector piece moves, making it easy to separate or join the two chairs, depending on the relationship between two people on any given day. Regardless of how far apart the chairs are, they are always connected.

Ropes and cords are used to connect two physical things, which is where the decision to use cotton clothesline and jute cord came from. The interior upholstery is made of wool felt, as well as the patches of color that emerge through the clothesline.
